Interpreting Colors, Patterns, Textures & Wood Grains on Your Screen

At National Bar Stool, we aim provide you with the most accurate images of our products on the Internet, so our team spends hours comparing actual finished products and swatches to the digital colors we see on our own test screens. Then we spend more time tweaking our colors to ensure that our depictions are as close to reality as possible.

Despite these tireless efforts, there can still be some variation between what you see on your screen versus what you see in real life. This actually applies to ALL digital images you see online. After all, there are a variety of technical factors (variations in lighting, photography, and digital displays to name a few) that can alter the way a color looks on your screen. Also, fine details, textures, wood grains, etc might not be clearly visible due to the limitations of digital photo imaging.

With this in mind, the images on our site will give you a really good idea of the color options for each stool, but it's important to understand that the colors depicted on your screen might be different than the actual color you receive. For that matter, even when you see a piece of furniture in-person, a color can look very different simply by looking at it from different angles or under different lighting conditions.

Semi-Transparent Metal Finishes

Amisco's Semi-transparent "Harley" finish allows beautiful imperfections, weld marks and other nuances of the steel frame underneath to show through. Even the hue and tone of the color can vary across the frame of each stool. These variations make each piece truly unique. The visibility level and quantity of these details will vary greatly from piece to piece. If you appreciate details like these, you will love these finishes. If you're not comfortable with imperfections and inconsistency, please pick a different finish!

  • Harley (51) is Amisco's most "industrial" finish. It ranges from a warm gold tone to aged silver to black. This finish allows the most amount of imperfections and weld marks to show through. If you want an authentic-looking rustic/industrial/farmhouse look, this is the perfect option for your space.
Color Variations and Buffer Marks

Paint thickness variation is inherent to the application process for this finish. These differences in thickness cause unique color variations from piece to piece. A bar stool finished in Harley might vary from a light pewter tint to a deep black on the same piece, thus creating the look of an old industrial stool that aged naturally from years of use.

Spots and Striations

Spots, striations and other kinds of imperfections could be visible on lighter areas of the metal frame. Again, these nuances make each piece of furniture truly unique.

Dark Weld Marks

During welding, metal heats up and darkens. Dark spots may be visible around the welded areas of your stool, as well as on the face of a metal part opposite to a weld. This dark area will vary from weld to weld and stool to stool. Sometimes they are extremely visible; other times, they're almost invisible.

Visible Seams in Tubing

A continuous black line may appear along a tubular part of the frame. This is the area where the steel was welded to become a tube. The location and visibility level of this seam will vary from tube to tube, even on the same stool. Sometimes they are extremely visible; other times, you almost cannot see them at all.
